In 1932, the French sugar industry established an interdisciplinary professional body that provides information and documentation on an indispensable agri-food product: sugar. Through research, teaching, knowledge and information transmission, the Centre d’Études et de Documentation du Sucre (CEDUS – Centre for Study and Documentation on Sugar) focuses on serving consumers’ interests.
The CEDUS addresses the expectations of everyone concerned by the consumption and use of sugar extracted from sugar beet and from sugarcane:
- by advancing knowledge related to nutritional aspects, hand-in-hand with medical and paramedical communities,
- by informing the general public,
- and finally, by developing a resource centre for professionals, teachers, their pupils and the media, on all aspects of sugar: culinary, technical, economical, gastronomical, etc.
The CEDUS monitors, checks and ensures the accurateness of the contents proposed on lesucre.com website to the best of its knowledge as regards ongoing topics at the time of publication.
